Faye Akin March 03, 1945 - July 15, 2009 Faye Akin, 64, of Silver Fox Drive went home to be with the Lord at 4:05 p.m. Tuesday, July 15, 2009, at Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility. Miss Akin, a member of Columbus Baptist Church, retired from Cummins Engine Company after 32 years of service. She loved her dog, Murphy, loved to cook and loved the Lord and her church. Born in Adair County, Ky., March 3, 1945, Miss Akin was the daughter of Roy and Josephine Wilson Akin. She is survived by a daughter, Staci Akin of Columbus; brothers, Claude (Kathleen) Akin of Scottsburg and Harold (Alice Faye) Akin of Evansville; a sister, Alma (Ollie) Jessie of Evansville; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Nolan Thomas and Joe Miller Akin; and sisters, Sue Baker and Theora Bunch. Funeral Information VISITATION: Saturday, July 18, 2009 from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services at Jewell Rittman Family Funeral Home. MEMORIAL SERVICE: Saturday, July 18, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Charles Kennedy officiating.
