Randall Lee Erdmann, 64, of Indianapolis, died at 2:03 p.m., Thursday, May 11, 2023, at his home.
Randy was born March 20, 1959, in Bedford, Indiana, the son of Thomas Bernhard and Judith Darlene Burnette Erdmann. He was married to Susan Elliot. She preceded him in death on March 16, 2020.
Randy graduated from Santa Anna High School in California. Randy was proud to have served his country in the United States Marine Corps from 1977- 1981. Randy enjoyed boxing, working on cars, painting, and carpentry. He was a talented mechanic and a forever fan of the Indianapolis Colts.
A memorial service and Military honors, presented by the Bartholomew County Veteran’s Honor Guard, will be held at 7 PM on Thursday, May 25, 2023, at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home in Columbus with Rev. Derek Carpenter officiating. Visitation will be from 5 PM until the time of the service on Thursday. In keeping with the families wishes, cremation is planned.
Survivors include his parents, Thomas, and Judith Erdmann, of Columbus; daughters, Nicole Erdmann (Randy Ackerman) and Laura (John) Campbell, both of Columbus; brothers, Richard (Patricia) Erdmann and Thomas (Christy) Erdmann, both of Columbus; a sister, Roni Edwards, of Columbus; seven grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Stacy Erdmann.

I will always remember the tough love and talks we had. You always guided me in the right direction even when we got lost along the way we always found our way back to each other. You were the only one I could truly trust and confide in. I can’t wait until we meet again dad. I’ll miss you everyday until then. I love you more than words could ever express.
