Randie Tungate Brooks Street Randie L. Tungate, 64, of Brooks Street, died at 7:50 p.m. Saturday, June 25, 2011 at Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility. He was born in Shelbyville, October 27, 1946, the son of the late Albert and Nettie Noel Tungate. He married Debbie Gilpin August 30, 2002. She survives. Randie retired from Golden Foundry after 36 years of service. He collected guns and "Occupied Japan" items. His hobbies included going to auctions and yard sales. He was an avid walker, and enjoyed watching NASCAR and many other sports.He loved spending time with his family and his dog Harlee. He is survived by a son, Danny (Melanie Patmore) Tungate of Columbus; a daughter, Katrina (Jayson) Tovey of Columbus; a stepdaughter, Brandy (Travis Houser) Denney of Columbus; grandchildren,Zoee Huckaby and Madux Tovey; a step-grandson, Tristan Mathers; and sisters, Jean Horn of Columbus and Shirley Estopare of Missouri. He was preceded in death by his parents. FUNERAL SERVICE: Funeral services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with the Revs. Kenny Lee and Glenn Poynter officiating. VISITATION: Calling will be from 4 p.m. Tuesday until service time at the funeral home. BURIAL: A private family interment will be held at Garland Brook Cemetery. MEMORIALS: Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of South Central Indiana or the American Cancer Society.
