Raymond J. Dunkin

Raymond J. Dunkin, Sr. age 81, of Hope, passed away at 3:15 a.m. Saturday December 22, 2018 at Miller’s Merry Manor in Hope. He was born August 7, 1937 in Keokuk, Iowa to the late Vern L. and Kathryn (Hawley) Dunkin. Raymond was a member of Saint Bartholomew Catholic Church. He spent time volunteering for Habitat for Humanity and in his leisure time, he enjoyed woodworking, upholstery and fishing. He enjoyed spending time with his large family. Raymond is survived by his wife of 62 years, Doris J. (Hunold) Dunkin whom he married on June 27, 1956. He also leaves behind 3 daughters, Kathy (Harold) Crim of Columbus, Bonnie (Danny) Peters of Greensburg and Christina Dunkin of Greensburg; 2 sons, Ron (Adrianne) Dunkin of Morristown and Larry Dunkin of Kentucky; 6 grandchildren, Matthew Ault, Stephanie Kindred, Tabitha Saltzman, Mike Dunkin, Michelle Dunkin and Brian Dunkin and 8 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 sons, Richard, Michael and Raymond Dunkin, Jr.; 2 brothers, Charles and Butch Dunkin and a sister, Ruth Hardin. Funeral services will be held at Noon Thursday December 27, 2018 at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home. Following the service, he will be laid to rest in Garland Brook Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until Noon Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions in memory of Raymond may be made to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana through the funeral home. I will keep you all and your family in prayers may God bless you all I’m not sure if I know the man but my mom probably does but she’s gone her name was Pam siders but her maiden name was Pam Hawley but I know he’s up there in a better place what God and he’s up there with my mom they will be gone but never forgotten.
