Rebecca "Becky" Ann Browne
August 4, 1956 ~ January 10, 2025
Rebecca “Becky” Ann Browne, 68, of Columbus, died at 8:08 a.m. on January 10, 2025 at her home. Becky was born in Columbus, the daughter of Willis Lucas and Janet (Stewart) Lucas. She married Drew Browne on March 28, 1981.
Throughout her life, Becky thrived in the summers. She took great pride in attracting birds and butterflies to her flower garden as she battled against the rabbits every year to protect her prized trailing red Mezoo daisies. She was happiest outdoors with her kids and grandkids: eating watermelon in the backyard, soaking up sun with her toes in the water, or sitting next to the campfire.
I got my toes in the water, ass in the sand
Not a worry in the world, a cold beer in my hand
Life is good today. Life is good today.
Becky treasured her family and always found ways to make them feel special. She kept the excitement in birthdays, the magic in holidays, and the laughter in every day. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Her love was fierce and unwavering; it gave her the strength she needed to enjoy as many years as she could with her beloved grandchildren.
In Keeping Becky’s wishes cremation was chosen.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or Our Hospice of South-Central Indiana.
Survivors include her husband, Drew Browne; son, Jacob (Brittany) Browne of North Vernon; daughter, Jessie (Clayton) Browne-Michaels of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Harrison Browne, Declan Browne, Nolan Browne, Wren Michaels, and Sylvie Michaels.

I am one of Becky’s cousins who love her so much. This picture says everything about Becky. Such kind and loving eyes; a smile so sweet, but just a little flicker of her humor. Becky was such a private person but when she loved you, as she did us cousins, she was so open with her warmth from a deeply loving heart. -Cindy Keever
Going to miss her sweet, sweet smile and potato salad (Drew tries but…). Such a loving individual. No longer required to wear our earthly trappings, her spirit is free to soar’

Becky lived across the street from my husband and I for several years, until we moved.
She was always smiling and was very nice when we talked. You could tell she loved her grandkids. She was outside a lot with them.
Also, I worked with her son, Jake, for awhile.
My condolences to the family!
May her memory continue through her family and daisies.
