Rebecca Faye Carmer, 54, of Columbus, died at 1:20 a.m. on June 27, 2025 at her home. Rebecca was born on November 27, 1970 in Columbus, the daughter of Richard Leon and Judith Faye (Moore) Gater. She married James Paul Carmer on August 23, 1996.
Becky loved to sing and dance around, always doing so with family and friends. She had a large clientele selling some of her favorite Scentsy products. One of her best hobbies was crafting and making T-shirts that you still may see being worn around, especially on her daughters.
The funeral service will be at 12:00 p.m. Monday June 30, 2025 at Jewell Rittman Family Funeral Home with Doran Chambers officiating. Calling will be from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Monday, June 30, 2025 at the funeral home. Burial will be held at Garland Brook Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the funeral home for funeral expenses.
Survivors include her mother, Judith Gater; husband, James Carmer; daughters, Halee Niccole (Christi) Crecelius of Floyds Knobs, Indiana, Linzy Fayeane Carmer and Jaelyn Paige Carmer both of Columbus; grandchild, Evelynne Niccole Crecelius, and her beloved dog, Bailey.
She was preceded in death by her father, Richard Gater; brother, Robbi Lynn Gater; and beloved dog, Harley.
Services were entrusted to the Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home.

Dear James and family. I’m so sorry to hear about your precious Becky. Know all my thoughts and prayers are with you all now and in the future. I won’t be able to be at the funeral as I’m in rehab; but you sure will be on my heart.
Many prayers to your family. Becky and I went to school together. She is a kind, beautiful, loving soul. May strength be with you all.

Becky was a kind and loving person. She was compassionate, strong willed, and a fighter. There wasn’t anything that she would not do and accomplish it. Becky’s favorite bible verse was “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Our hearts and prayers are with you all.

I don’t know the words to say about the passing of a dear friend! Becky was the most kind hearted person I’ve known and I used to watch and babysit her precious 3 girls! James and the girls my heart goes out to each and everyone of you! She is watching down on you all from this day forward and is blessed to be in your lives for as long as she was! She fought with every thing in her til the end! My thoughts and prayers are with you all from this day forward!

Becky was amazing in so so many ways she was a loving wife to her husband James and a loving mother to her girls Hailey, Lynzy, Jaylen. She loved her furr babies as well. Our hearts are hurting.
I can honestly say Becky was definitely a fighter and can say nobody can say anything different.
She will be missed by everyone who has known her. She is in good hands now and wears her angle wings proudly. We love you and miss you
