Im sorry for your loss. Rex was a super guy. He and I were close friends in my late 20s… Im 51 now. He was the strongest man Id ever known. I spotted him bench pressing 500 lbs. the bar would bend under the weight and everybody in the gym would stop what they were doing to watch in awe. He loved his Corvettes. T-tops our in the summer time cruising in his L-81s. Im really happy to see he had some boys to carry on his legacy. I am sorry to hear that he has passed.
Rex had a great sense of humor. We were always doing stupid things to make each other laugh. One night he dared me at Waffle House to go up to a complete stranger and pour their glass of water over my own hard… say That was refreshing.l… and walk out. He wouldnt stop bothering about it… so I did it. Rex and I laughed about that one for weeks. That poor guy at the Waffle House is still probably wondering what kind of a nut job was that???

It’s a sad day when you find out one of your best friends from high school has passed. Rex was a true friend, always there to help me with my math, go cruise in his corvette, head to my grandparents to fish, and spot for him on the bench press at the Columbus Barbell Club; yes I witnessed 500 lbs. a few times. Rex was a otstanding football player, he was suppose to be my room mate in college at Indiana State University where he was a member of the team until a back injury prevented him from playing. I will always remember the bonfires at the Kinsey house, and the fun we had. Rex you are missed, but I thank God for being the friend I needed in High School. I will make sure to visit A&W Root Beer before leaving town. Love ya brother!
Tony’s family lived in my neighborhood near Walesboro. He and my son, Mike, shared a love of their Corvettes. Tony was always kind and polite when visiting our house.
Rex and I were became close friends in high school. We shared a love for corvettes and spent many Friday and Saturday nights hanging out around town, always managing to stay out of trouble. Rex had a cassette tape of ZZ Top Eliminator that he enjoyed playing over and over in his car – I still think of those days when I hear ZZ Top. I knew Rex to have a fun sense of humor and a strong passion for living adventurously. He was a strong guy, with a kind heart. Im sad to hear that hes gone too soon.
Tony had a very nice service today. It was a pleasure meeting Tony’s family and visiting with classmates Beth Calhoun and Brad Robertson. Tony will be greatly missed.
