Richard was born June 27, 1935,  in Shepherdsville, Kentucky, the son of  Frank and Maureen Frohman Crigler. He married Betty Jean Compton November 23, 1956. Richard was a winter resident of Lake Wales, Florida for 40 years before permanently moving there from Columbus 20 years ago. While in columbus, he coached little league baseball and won many trophies racing go-carts at the fairgrounds. He was a member of the Masons and Shriners, as well as a past member of Future Farmers of America. He was an avid racing fan, having loved NASCAR and Tony Stewart. Richard enjoyed fishing and spending time with family and friends. Memorial contributions may be made to the Tony Stewart Foundation  through the funeral home. Survivors include his daughters, Lynna L. Crigler of Columbus and B. Rene Crigler of Indianapolis; sons, Carlos F. (Teri) Crigler of Columbus and Ronald D. Crigler of Lake Wales; three brothers, Orville Crigler of Kentucky, Robert (Karen) Crigler of Salem, Indiana and Joseph Crigler of Kentucky; and his girlfriend, Elizabeth Ann Levy of Frostproof, Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Betty.
