Hibbs, 85, of North Vernon, died at 8:53 p.m. April 17, 2018, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana. Richard was born December 7, 1932, in Erie, Kansas, the son of Orval and Myrle Vanderford Hibbs. He retired from Dolly Madison Bakery where he had been employed as a baker. Richard enjoyed gardening, flowers and watching westerns. Survivors include his sons, Ronnie G. Hibbs of North Vernon and Richard C. (Stacie) Hibbs of Seymour; daughters, Linda (Robert) McBride of Seymour and Sharen Hibbs of Madison; brother, Joe (Linda) Hibbs of Hope; sister, Sondra Slattery of Hope; and grandson, Michael Gene Williams. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Wilbur and Roger Hibbs; and sisters, Patricia Walls, Karen Cardinal and Doris Piper.
