Richard L. "Dick" Westerfield November 16, 1924 - September 19, 2007 Richard L. Dick Westerfield, 82, of Southwind Court died at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2007, at Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility. Mr. Westerfield was an MP in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a truck driver throughout his life and after retirement worked at JayC Food Store. He loved to play the organ. Born in Columbus Nov. 16, 1924, Mr. Westerfield was the son of Ralph and Mary Westerfield. He married Phyllis Floyd Moore Oct. 18, 1998. Survivors include his wife; a son, Terry Carroll; a daughter, Judy Mellencamp of Seymour; grandchildren, Tommy and Jason Mellencamp and Stephanie Mellencamp-Cunningham; five great-grandchildren; stepgrandchildren, Keith Moore, Jeremy Robison and Sandra Ann Dennee; two stepgreat-grandchildren; a stepson, Robert Moore of Columbus; stepdaughters, Ruth Ann Moore of Fort Myers, Fla., Pamela Stigdon of Seymour and Rebecca Dawn Fiesbeck of Indian Rocks Beach, Fla.; a brother, Robert Westerfield of Kissimmee, Fla.; and sisters, Betty (Harold) Burkman of Elizabethtown and Lora Jane (Ken) Aure of Clear Lake, Minn. He was preceded in death by his parents; Ralph and Mary Westerfield; a daughter, Patricia Westerfield; and a brother, Thomas Westerfield. Funeral Information VISITATION: Sunday, September 23, 2007 from 2:00 until 6:00 p.m. at the Jewell - Rittman Family Funeral Home. FUNERAL: Monday, September 24,2007 at 1:00 p.m. at the Jewell - Rittman Family Funeral Home with the Rev. David Armstrong officiating.
