Richard L. Mathis June 19, 1937 - April 01, 2010 Richard Lee Mathis, 72, of East Indiana 46, died at 11:03 p.m. Thursday, April 1, 2010, at Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility. Mr. Mathis was a U.S. Army veteran and a Cummins Engine Company retiree. Born June 19, 1937, Mr. Mathis was the son of Samuel W. and Emma Snyder Mathis. He married Carolyn A. Sisson Jan. 1, 1957. She preceded him in death. Survivors include sons, Everett Mathis of Greenwood and Ernest Mathis of Charlotte, N.C.; a daughter, Luella Ballard of Plymouth, Minn.; and grandchildren, Jarod Ballard, Jordan Ballard, Cara Mathis and Ryan Mathis. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife. Funeral Information FUNERAL: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with Pastor Jeff Alexander officiating.
