Box 66024 Indianapolis, IN 46266 or Our Hospice of South Central Indiana, 2626 E. 17th Street Columbus, IN 47201 Richard Lee Fish, 73, finished his earthly race and was called to eternal life at 5:35 p.m., Thursday, January 10, 2013 at his Columbus home. The son of Glenn Lee and Ina Lorene (Hanner) Fish, Richard was born July 24, 1939 in Columbus. Following graduation from Columbus High School, he served in the US Army from 1958 to 1962. Returning home after discharge he worked nearly 35 years as a US Department of Labor recognized Skill Trades Journeyman for Cummins Engine Company as a machine repairman. Bicycle riding, fishing, organic gardening, artistic drawing, hunting, camping, woodworking and tinkering were among his favorite activities. He attended several area churches and finished his faith walk at the First Church of the Nazarene in Columbus. He served as a Sunday School Teacher throughout his life teaching children, youth and adults. Richard married Florence Foster in Columbus on October 18, 1963. She preceded him in death on November 01, 1989. He then married Sharon (Hammond) Snyder in Columbus on June 13, 1992. She survives along with his two children Rev. Greg (Barb) Fish of Woodsfield, OH and Stephanie (John) Bates of Avon, IN. Also surviving is a sister, Gloria (Ralph) Martin of Columbus; grandchildren Kyle, Alyssa, and Carly Bates of Avon, IN and Jackie (Peter) White of Tulsa, OK; and a great-grandchild, Coen White of Tulsa, OK. He is also survived by his extended family, Randy (Julie) Snyder and Rhonda (Jack) St. Clair all of Columbus along with: their children; Joshua (Jennifer) Snyder of Hillsboro, Oregon, Brook Snyder, Phillip Ramsey, Aaron (Dawn) Compton, Emily (Cody) Fleetwood, and Matthew St. Clair all of Columbus and Christopher St. Clair of Savannah GA; their grandchildren: Kayla, Macey, and Meah Ramsey, Isiah Rudicel, Zoe Fleetwood, and Gage St. Clair all of Columbus; Hadley St. Clair of Butlerville and Taylor Zehner of Hillsboro, Oregon. In addition to his wife Flo, Richard was preceded in death by his parents, brothers; Jack, James and Jerry Fish and a sister, Martha (Fish) Henderson.

  1. Richard was a lot of fun. I will never forget every time I saw him he would wave and smile and with that voice, “Hello Don!” It didn’t matter where he was on the bike or at walmart he always greeted me with a smile. Our family will be keeping you in our prayers!
