Richard Martin Edmonds, 67, of Columbus, passed away Wednesday, September 9, 2020 at his home.
Richard was born on September 15, 1952 in Franklin, Indiana to Bobby G. Edmonds and Dorothy J. Inabnitt Edmonds.
Richard was a United States Navy Veteran. He lived in Louisiana during Hurricane Katrina and helped rebuild thru his construction company R & C Construction. He enjoyed playing euchre, fishing, drawing and traveling.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, September 14, 2020 at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home. Calling hours will be from 10 a.m. until service time Monday at the funeral Home. Burial will be held at Nineveh Christian Church Cemetery with military honors by the Honor Guard.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral home to help with final expenses.
Survivors include his son, Richard Keith (Jennifer) Robertson of Arkansas; daughters, Allyson East of Edinburgh, IN, Angela (Brian) Cooper of Elizabethtown, IN; lifetime companion, Carol Scott of Westwego, LA; brothers, Michael David Edmonds of Columbus, IN and Gary Bensheimer of Franklin, IN; sisters, Joyce Edmonds of Seymour, IN, Karen Mercer of Nineveh, IN, Bev Wilson of Columbus, IN, Janet Acton of Columbus, IN; grandchildren, Logan Poff, Tyler (Emily) Cooper, Nathaniel East, Braydon McIntosh, Sunny Robertson and 4 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Donna Bensheimer.

I have so many memories of Ricky and I. We were together much of our growing up years. Dorothy Jean and the kids stayed at our home in Indianapolis a lot. We were a close family. Ricky and I argued-about everything. He wasn’t my second cousin, he was a “brother”. It’s sad how you get away from family as you grow up. I love all the memories I have. I thank the Lord for them all
