Rita Jewell Hall, 80, of E. 15th Street, died at 12:50 a.m. Thursday, July 7, 2011 at her home. Rita was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene and served in many capacities within the church including missionary president, board member, Sunday School teacher, choir member and leader of the Thuesday ladies prayer meeting. She was also a delegate to the district assembly. Rita enjoyed working in her yard, quilting and especially enjoyed her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Rita was born Aug. 1, 1930 at Fort Gay, W.V., the daughter of George Walter Gill and Florida Gill Nelson. She married Pete Hall April 24, 1948. Survivors include her husband; daughters, Cathy A. Coy and Kristi Lustig, both of Columbus; a son, Jeffrey (Vicki) Hall of Columbus; a brother, David Gill of Columbus; sisters, Lola King Isley of Columbus, and Rebecca Schaefer of Morrison, CO; grandchildren, Matt Coy, Amy Grieger, Megan Lustig, Jacob Lustig, Joseph (Rachel) Lustig, Pete Lustig, Lydia (Andrew) Johnson, Lukas Hall, and Taylor Hall; great-grandchildren, Griffen Wheeler, Emma Grieger, Skylar Elkins, Brittany Hutley and expected soon is Eliza Grace Jewell Johnson. Several nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her father, George Walter Gill; her mother, Florida Gill Nelson; a son, Timothy Douglas Hall; a brother, Gary Kenneth Gill, and a sister, Lois Ann Leszcynski. FUNERAL: The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday at First Church of the Nazarene with the Revs. Brian Solomon and Andrew Johnson officiating. VISITATION: Calling will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home and from noon until service time Monday at the church. BURIAL: Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.
