Robbie J. Hill, 85, of Columbus, passed away at 5:25 a.m. Wednesday, May 9, 2018, at her home. Robbie was born December 23, 1932, in Mt. Washington, Kentucky, the daughter of Willie and Martha Walls Goff. She married Otis Hill Jr. on October 27, 1952. Robbie loved reading her Bible, and on December 16, 1995, she and her husband were baptized and became members of the Columbus Seventh Day Adventist Church. Robbie enjoyed volunteering at the church and the Community Service Center with many of her friends. She was employed with Columbus Sportswear for 13 years, and also loved being a “constant source of advice” for all her children. Robbie was especially close to her friend Penny Ramey, whom she loved spending time with. She also appreciated taking care of and “enjoying” all the flowers she kept in her home. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday, May 14, 2018, at Columbus Seventh Day Adventists Church with Pastor Jose Gonzales officiating. Friends may visit from 10 a.m. until time of service at the church. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, the Alzheimer’s Association or Columbus Seventh Day Adventist Church. Robbie is survived by her children, Barbara (Tom) Messina of Hope, Bonnie (Caney) Hicks of Pioneer, Tennessee, Shirley Wallace of Columbus, John Hill of Columbus, Timothy (Ann) Hill of Columbus, Lisa (Mike) Bennett of Queensville, Indiana, Gregory Hill of Columbus, and Tracy Williams of Columbus; 19 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Ed (Vernie) Goff of Edinburgh, David (Sara) Goff of Kentucky, Juanita Harrington of Hustonville, Kentucky, Joyce (Bill) Klamerus of Florida, Jean (Bill) Vershay of St. Louis, Missouri, and Emily Rose (Ralph) Lee of Kentucky. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Otis Hill Jr., on August 5, 2003; brothers, Charles, Jay Norris, Franklin, Marshall, and Joe Goff; as well as her close friend, Penny Ramey. Services were entrusted to the Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home.
