Robert A. Moody
September 25, 1932 ~ January 14, 2025
Robert A. Moody, 92, of Columbus, passed away on Tuesday, January 14, 2025 at Columbus Regional Hospital. He was born in Columbus, IN on September 25, 1932 to Jesse Moody and Mildred Khune Moody.
Bob’s passion for life extended past all his years at Cummins. He worked for Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home helping others for many years and took great pride! He was also an active member of Columbus East United Methodist Church.
Bob was a proud graduate of Columbus High School and an avid Columbus East High School sports fan. You could always catch Bob at any Sporting event. He never missed a game and was his grandkids biggest fan! Even cheering for North when he had to!
Bob’s greatest joy was spending time with his grandkids whether he was taking them camping or hiking or for their annual special birthday trips. He loved his days with them and looked forward to planning it every year.
Bob always looked forward to his weekly lunches with his daughters and you could catch him either at Captain D’s for a fish sandwich or El Nopal munching on chips and salsa. Bob’s love didn’t just stop at his kids and grandkids, he enjoyed his dogs so much and the walks they took every day. He loved socializing with any and every one! He never met a stranger! If Bob wasn’t at home or at a sporting event you could find him helping a neighbor or friend. Bob is looking down from heaven smiling and saying his famous “Left turn Clyde!”
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, January 20, 2025, at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Aigner officiating. Calling hours will be from 11 a.m. Monday until service time at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Bob will be laid to rest at Garland Brook Cemetery.

I love you dad. I will always remember our talks and the good times that we had together. You love coming out to my house and just walking around and seating out side. You loved watching our grandson’s play and being around them. We will cherish every moment that we had together. Love you Carrie

Grandpa, you are going to be so missed everyday. I remember you being at every sporting event growing up and always being so kind to all of my friends and teammates. You never met a stranger. I loved joining in on lunches with my moms and aunts when I could. You gave the best hugs and loved English bulldogs just like me. You lived a wonderful 92 years of life, but you still left us too soon. Thank you for your service but most importantly, thank you for being the best Grandpa! I love you so much ❤️

Sympathy and peace to all during this time of sadness. May you find comfort knowing others are holding you all up in prayer and Bob rests in the arms of his Savior. Blessings.
Dad. It will be so hard not to see your face when I come over to visit you. I loved coming over and helping you put your groceries away finding something to eat and cleaning up the kitchen with you. We were always busy doing something. I will forever remember those times in my heart. I know not everybody at the time or chance to come over and see you. There are family members that haven’t been over for years, but you still love them. I remember you coming out to the house and staying with me for a few weeks just to have somebody to talk to and listen to. You and Rick would sit out on the back patio and laugh all the time. We had many good times out here. I remember a few times when the kids were little and we would take walks and you and the boys try to ride a bales down the hill. Or when we took a walk and there was that big black bowl down the end of the road. And you had on a red shirt. I will never forget any memories we have made. You will always be in my heart and always on my mind. I love you, dad.
My dad (Gene DeBell) always had a good word to say about Bob, they were good friends for years.
