Robert Bob Summers, 64, of Clifty Drive, died at 10:26 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 25, 2010, at his home.
Bob was born on April 1, 1946 in Columbus, the son of Omer and Mary Elizabeth Hayden Summers. He married Wilma Lee Summers on Dec. 2, 1966 and she survives.
When Bob was 5 months old, his father, Omer, passed away. When he was 5 years old, his mother married Earnest F. Ayers, whom Bob considered his father from that time forward.
Bob owned and operated B & W Tree Service and Stump Removal for many years, until retiring in 1998 due to health issues. He was a member of Gods House in Kentucky.
In addition to his wife, Bob is survived by sons, Robert Lee of Columbus and Mark (Patty) Summers of Texas; a daughter, Tina Summers of Columbus; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Patti Engelking-Runge; and sisters, Phyllis Clark and Norma Sutherland.
Funeral Information
FUNERAL: Will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with the Rev. Bobby Neal officiating.
VISITATION: Will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 9 a.m. until service time on Friday.
BURIAL: Will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.
