Robert "Bob" Wayne Barker

Robert Wayne Barker, 71, of Columbus, died at 1:36 p.m., December 23, 2018, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana. Robert was born August 19, 1947 in Columbus, the son of Ruth (Barker) Nicholson. He married Anita (Sovern) Barker on July 25, 1988. Bob was an avid outdoors man, loved hunting, fishing and trapping. One of his favorite things to do in his leisure time was build furniture for his family and friends. A memorial service will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 5th, 2019 with the Pastor Jason Johnson officiating. Calling will be from 12 noon until service time at Jewell-Rittman Family funeral home. Military Rites will be performed by the Bartholomew County Veterans Honor Guard. Memorials may be made to the American Legion post #24 and Our Hospice of South Central Indiana. Survivors include his wife, Anita; 3 sons; 1 daughter; 4 granddaughters, 1 grandson and 3 great-grandsons. He was preceded in death by his mother.
