Robert Charles Peabody, known to his friends and family as Bob, left this world October 12, 2025, in Westfield, Indiana. Born on August 19, 1948, in Erie, Pennsylvania, to parents Donald H. and Margarette L. Peabody, Bob grew up with a zest for life that was infectious.
Bob led a fulfilling life both personally and professionally. His colleagues often became friends, a true testament to his charismatic and engaging personality.
An avid Indiana University fan, he was the life of the party. As I am the younger brother, Bob had always been a powerful presence in my life. We used to play one on one football in our front yard, and he would let me “win’. Many of the friends he had as a boy, stayed his friends for life. He had a quick wit and often offered gentle jabs followed with kindness. He gave me great advice that I, too often, ignored. He was generous of spirit and a thoughtful gift giver. To say that he was proud of his family would be an understatement. I am grateful that I was able to spend time with him this past year. His great humor was still readily at hand despite the challenges he had to bear.
He will be truly missed.
Love you brother. Rest well.
he was my great uncle I only met him once

My most vivid memory of Bob is when we rode his Honda 50 out west of town and skidded on gravel at the top of a hill! No injuries, just road rash. He was always a lot of fun. Hard to believe it’s been 60 years since that ride. Sorry I can’t come Saturday because I am having surgery tomorrow. Anne Everett-Pataki

I will not forget how we met. You and Ray were on the porch at 286 Pearl St and hailed me over. We shared a cold one, what was to be the first of many. We made many memories there. So many friends were made there. Rest in peace.
Luckily, I had the pleasure of helping Bob with his finances for the last couple of years. I’ll miss the positive vibe & energy he would always bring to our conversations. You will be missed. RIP.
