SERVICES: 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 28, 2015 at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home. VISITATION: 4:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, February 27, 2015 at the Funeral Home one hour prior to service time on Friday. OFFICIATING: Pastor Patrick Galligar. Legan, 82, of North Talley Road, died at 1:49 p.m. Tuesday, February 24, 2015, at his home. Robert was born January 24, 1933, in Bartholomew County, the son of John Thomas and Elizabeth Scheidt Legan. He married Carol Cummins April 7, 1957. Robert retired from the U.S. army after 32 years of service. He was also a farmer all of his life and was proud to be called a farmer. Robert was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church. When Robert was younger, he enjoyed building stock car racing automobiles. Survivors include his wife; son, Jeffery Thomas Legan of Columbus; granddaughter, Mia (Jerry) Hounshell of Columbus; sisters, Corrine Seelye of Indianapolis and Lorine Kecceugla of Arizona; and great grandchildren, Tylor Ogle and Daynel Ogle. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Carl Legan, Earl Legan and Junior Legan; and a sister, Etta Dessinger.
