Robert F. Yeley, 87, of Road 550N, died at 4 p.m. Thursday, April 26, 2012, at Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility. Robert was a member of Petersville United Methodist Church. He was a trucker and a farmer and especially loved farming with his son. He enjoyed taking his grandchildren fishing at local lakes and rivers, camping with his friends and traveling, as well as telling stories. He was involved in tractor pulling and won the first tractor pull ever held at the local fair. Robert was a founding member of the Clifford Fire Department and was an active member of Indiana Farm Bureau. Born in Bartholomew County May 30, 1924, Mr. Yeley was the son of Benjamin Franklin and Bessie Blanche Holtz Yeley. He married Betty Lou Harden Nov. 10, 1946. Survivors include his wife; a son, Mike (Wilma) Yeley of Hope, Indiana; grandchildren, Gina (Mike) McGaha of Hope, Indiana, Jackie (Brian) Arnholt of Columbus, Indiana, Amy (Jeremy) Adams of Hope, Indiana, Rebekah Beeker of Hope, Indiana, Stacy (Robert) Stater of Columbus, Indiana, and Matt (Cheryl) Shireman of Columbus, Indiana; great-grandchildren, Clayton Shireman, Garrett McGaha, Jamie Kate McGaha, Nicole Beeker, Carly Beeker and Adam Arnholt; and a son-in-law, Steve Shireman of Columbus, Indiana. Robert was preceded in death by a daughter, Terrilyn Shireman; brothers, Paul Yeley, William Yeley and Donald Yeley; and a sister, Nora Fox. SERVICES: 10:30 a.m. Monday April 30, 2012 at Petersville United Methodist Church VISITATION: 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Sunday at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home and from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Monday at the church.
