Robert George Tellman May 15, 1919 - July 22, 2007 Robert George Tellman, 88, of Columbus died at 6:30 a.m. Sunday, July 22, 2007, at Columbus Regional Hospital. Mr. Tellman was a lifelong member of St. Peters Lutheran Church where he served on many boards and committees, including the Board of Elders and Board of Directors. He also served on the board of Farmers Marketing Association & Farm Services Agency. A dairy and agriculture farmer, he was the recipient of multiple awards for High Herd Dairy Improvement as well as the Miami Valley Milk Producers Association Quality Award. He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving in the Military Police and participating in the European Theater. Born in Bartholomew County May 15, 1919, Mr. Tellman was the son of George and Louise Strietelmeier Tellman. He married Jeanette P. Hammond Aug. 27, 1947, in Columbus. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Glenna (Robert) Tosti of Columbus; grandchildren, Scott (companion, April Hoeltke) Woolls of Columbus, Sandra (Jeff) Nickels of Columbus and twins, Ryan and Reannon Woolls, both of Columbus; great-grandchildren, Ashton and Katherine Woolls and twins, Bryce and Mia Nickels. He was preceded in death by his parents; a twin brother and sister, Francis Tellman and Florence Barnett, and another brother, William Tellman. Funeral Information FUNERAL: 1:30 p.m. Thursday, July 26, 2007 at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Teike officiating. VISITATION: 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 12:30 p.m. until service time Thursday. BURIAL: Garland Brook Cemetery and military graveside rites will be conducted by Bartholomew County Veterans Color Guard.
