Robert I. "Bob" Deweese April 10, 1944 - June 13, 2009 Robert I. Bob Deweese, 65, of Lantern Lane, died Saturday, June 13, 2009, at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. Bob was a technician at Cummins Engine Company, retiring after 43 years of service. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a member and deacon of the 25th Street Church of Christ. He had a passion for classic cars and enjoyed spending time with his granddaughter. Born April 10, 1944 in Columbus, Bob was the son of Robert S. and Linnie Hines Deweese. He married Wanda Ping June 10, 1967. Survivors include his wife; his mother, Linnie Hines Deweese of Columbus; a son, Rob Deweese of Cincinnati,OH; daughters, Niki Deweese of Columbus and Rebecca (Chad) Shaffer of Greenwood; a granddaughter, Mia Shaffer; brothers, Charlie (Sue) Deweese of Clifford, John (Ann) Deweese of Greenwood and James (Jeanette) Deweese of Scipio; sisters, Bonnie Kanatzar of San Antonio, Texas and Junie (David) Megnin of Columbus. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert S. Deweese and a daughter, Andrea Deweese. Funeral Information FUNERAL: 10 a.m. Thursday, June 18, 2009 at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with Lee Wildman and Brace Rutledge officiating. VISITATION: 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 17, 2009 and from 9 a.m. until service time Thursday. BURIAL: Garland Brook Cemetery with military rites by the Bartholomew County Veterans Color Guard.
