Robert W. Prather March 22, 1931 - August 18, 2008 Robert Wayne Prather, 77 of Charlotte, N.C., passed away Monday, August 18, 2008. Mr. Prather was born March 22, 1931, in Columbus, Ind., to the late Walter B. and Mabel L. Everroad Prather. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict and graduated from the Indiana Institute of Technology in Electrical Engineering. Mr. Prather was a life member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Inc. and retired from Tipmont REMC as a Professional Engineer. His survivors include his wife, Anne Stahly Prather of Charlotte; a son, Thomas F. Cartmel and wife Anne of Goshen, Ind.; daughters, Cynthia A. Saba and husband Ron of Charlotte and Jennifer E. Silvey and husband Jeffrey of Fishers, Ind.; and his beloved grandchildren, Andrew, Elizabeth, Emily, Eleanor, Katherine, Timothy and Caroline. He is also survived by an aunt, Nellie Everroad, and cousin, Pat Tovey, both of Indiana, and by cousin Max Joslin of North Carolina. Funeral Information FUNERAL: Will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with the Rev. Lane Loman officiating. VIEWING: Will be from 11 a.m. until service time Monday. BURIAL: Will be at Garland Brook Cemetery. A military graveside service will be conducted by Bartholomew County Veterans Color Guard. Donations Information The family asks that memorial contributions may be sent to First Baptist Church, 3300 Fairlawn Dr, Columbus, IN 47203, or Trinity Presbyterian Church, Missions and Outreach Ministry, 3115 Providence Road, Charlotte NC 28211.
