January 14, 1945 ~ May 19, 2025

Rodger Lee Lawles passed away peacefully on May 19, 2025, in Columbus, Indiana, at the age of 80. Born on January 14, 1945, in the small town of Ogilville, Indiana, Rodger was a man whose loving nature and handy skills left a lasting impression on all who knew him. He married Esther Mae Hoover on July 17, 1965. She survives. Rodger's warmth radiated through his community, where he was often seen lending a hand and sharing his expertise in his tree trimming business, Rodger’s Tree Service. Rodger will be remembered as a simple man that worked very hard, and most importantly, loved his wife and family. As we bid farewell to Rodger, we celebrate a life lived with an open heart and hands ready to serve. He will be deeply missed, yet his loving influence will continue to be felt by those fortunate enough to have known him. Rodger is survived by his wife, children, Michael Lee Lawles and Tabatha La-rae Lawles, grandchildren, Jayden (Sara McCleary) Campbell, Jamie (Kaitlyn) Campbell, Selena and Jayla McCleary, Kaylin, Zachary, and Zander Campbell; and great-grandchild, Kinzlee Campbell. Rodger was preceded in death by his parents, Lonnie and Fern Lawles, and a grandchild, T. J. Campbell. Memorials may be made to the Seventh Street Church of God through the funeral home. Services will be at 10:00 am on Thursday, May 22, 2025, at Jewell Rittman Family Funeral Home with Pastor Jerry Ballard officiating. Calling will be from 9:00 am until 10:00 am on Thursday, May 22, 2025, at Jewell Rittman Family Funeral Home. Burial will be at Bethel Baptist Cemetery following the service.
