Della Road Roger D. Brown, 55, of Della Road, died at 5:15 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2011 at Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility. Roger was an employee of Celadon Trucking Company, and previously employed by Fab Express, Bartholomew County Beverage, Hedger Construction and Scheidt Tire. He attended Jewell Village Separate Baptist Church. Roger played in the bands "Gospel Rhythmaires" which played at the Grand Ole Opry, "Marv Brown and the Country Steelers", "Midnight Expressions" and "Pure Country". He loved antique cars, auctions and doing carpentry work. Roger was born Nov. 8, 1955, in Greensburg, the son of the Rev. Carlis and Gervis E. Wilson Brown. He married Kimberly Krumme Feb. 13, 2011. He is survived by his wife, Kimberly Krumme Brown of Columbus; children, Jamie Lee (Amy) Wingler of Indianapolis, Stephanie N. (Devon) Fields of Columbus, Lucas A. Doty of Seymour and Ariel A. (Bobby) Bower of Warner Robins, GA; grandchildren, Shelby Lynne Wingler, Heath Larkin Wingler, Luke Dale Wingler, all of Indianapolis, Annabelle Claire Fields and Harrison Montgomery Fields, both of Columbus; and a brother, Marvin (Brenda) Brown of Columbus. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Carlis Brown Jr. and Rev. J.C. Brown, and sisters, Mary A. Brown, Christine Adams and Clorstine Roberts. FUNERAL: 11 a.m. Saturday at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with the Revs. J.B. Wilson and Glenn Poynter officiating. CALLING: 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday. BURIAL: Old Union Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Hospice of South Central Indiana or the American Cancer Society.
