McClintock, 69, of Union St., passed away Wednesday, May 31, 2017 in Indianapolis. Roger was born August 2, 1947 in Columbus, the son of Carlton Leon and Betty K. Weddle McClintock. Roger started working for Cummins Engine Company in 1965, retiring in 2001 after 36 years of service and was a U.S. Army Veteran, serving in Vietnam. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren, and also had fun playing pool and line dancing. Roger enjoyed slot car racing when he was younger, moved onto R/C cars as he grew older, and also enjoyed cars as a whole. The funeral will be 11:30 A.M. Tuesday June 6, 2017 at the Jewell – Rittman Family Funeral Home with the Rev. Virgil Clotfelter officiating. Military Rites will be performed by the Bartholomew County Veterans Honor Guard. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service Tuesday. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society through the funeral home. Survivors include his daughters Amy K. (Patrick) Jackson of Columbus, Dyan McClintock of North Vernon, and Nicole D. (Jeremy) Petro of Columbus; grandchildren Zayne, Chase, and Connor Jackson, Ethan, Haylee, and Jayden Smith, as well as Bailey and Bentley Petro; a brother Charles B. McClintock of Prosperity, South Carolina; sisters Gail Ann Booth of Rancho Mirage, California, and Judith (Alan) Eddelman of Columbus.He was preceded in death by his parents. For those of you who knew Roger, you will know his parting word to any conversation… “whatever”!
