Roger L. Godsey, 59, of Seymour, IN, passed away at his home on Monday, December 23, 2024. He was born in Columbus, IN on December 31, 2024 to Earlen Godsey and Betty L. Mosley Godsey.
Roger dedicated a significant portion of his life to his work at Enkei, where he was employed for approximately 25 years. His commitment and work ethic were evident to his colleagues and friends within the industry. He was not only respected for his professional contributions but also for his camaraderie and willingness to lend a helping hand.
An ardent lover of the outdoors, Roger found solace and joy in camping, embracing the beauty and tranquility of nature. His passion for the environment was matched by his enthusiasm for rock-n-roll, and he could often be found at concerts, surrounded by the music that energized his soul. Among all of nature's creatures, the eagle held a special place in Roger's heart, symbolizing the freedom and majesty that he so admired.
Roger's departure leaves behind a legacy of warmth, laughter, and the melodies of a life well-lived. His presence will be profoundly missed, yet his spirit will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to have known him. Roger's journey through life was a testament to the joy that can be found in the simple pleasures and the bonds we forge along the way.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, January 8, 2025 at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home. Calling hours will be from 11 a.m. until service time at 1 p.m. Wednesday.
Survivors include his children, Roger Kyle (Zoe) Godsey of Columbus, IN, Alisha L. Godsey of Columbus, IN and Dylan E. (Brii Barrett) Godsey of Columbus, IN; step-children, Tricia Howard, Julian Greer and Haley Means; a brother, Earlen (Diane) Godsey of Seymour, IN; grandchildren, Jace Hurt, Miley Godsey and Maximus Hurt.
Roger was preceded in death by his parents, Earlen and Betty Godsey.

Singing along to Meatloaf and Bad company, eating hamburger helper. Watching tv, folding laundry and playing with the kids. Doing nothing or to talking. Then spontaneous running barefoot in the backyard in the snow. Always having fun. Sore with the eagles, till we meet again

I worked with Roger at enkei on the weekends we would jam to our walkmans on the same station. A fun fellow to work with we like to gossip with each other. A good guy and friend. Pattie skeen
