May 4, 1959 ~ May 23, 2025
William Roger Tucker, 66, of Columbus, passed away Friday, May 23, 202,5 at Columbus Regional Hospital after a short illness.
Roger was born May 4, 1959, to Randall and Evelyn Tucker in Columbus, Indiana. He attended St. Peter’s Lutheran School, Columbus North High School, and received his bachelor’s degree from Indiana University. He worked for Marvin Johnson and Associates for 40 years and considered them his second family.
Roger married Janet Lynn Bowen 40 years ago and was blessed with two wonderful children, Bryan and Erica, and one grandchild, Caleb.
Roger was an avid sports fan and spent his entire life playing sports and coaching his son when he was younger. He stayed active into his adult life and enjoyed going on fishing trips with his son to Sanibel Island, playing golf with friends every Saturday in the summer, taking boat rides with his family, watching Indiana football and basketball, and playing with his grandson.
He loved living in Columbus and developed many close friendships over the course of his life. His greatest joy was his family, and he was blessed to have his children, as well as most of his extended family, close by in town. His family gathered together often, and those were his favorite times.

It was decades ago when I met one of the most sincere and humble men I’d ever met. Roger didn’t just approach me as a potential customer to win over, but as a friend he could serve or help. He was far from empty-handed with what he offered and after a few years of his gentle but persistent attempts to let him quote, he won my business. Throughout the years I’ve enjoyed Roger’s friendship and guidance and time we spent together on the golf course. Roger will be greatly missed.
I was saddened to hear the news of my friend Roger. He was affectionately known to me as “Tucker”. We started our work relationship in the late ’80’s … I was his Underwriter. A wonderful friendship developed over the years, not only with Tucker, but with Janet. Oh, the fun we had at times while we were suppose to be working! He was devoted to his customers. Even though it’s been a few years since I’ve seen Tucker, I will always cherish our relationship. God Bless You, Lori Elder
