Roy Burton April 30, 1927 - October 12, 2005 Roy Burton, 78, of North Ross Street died at 10:05 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2005, at Columbus Regional Hospital. Mr. Burton retired from Cosco in 1979. He was an Army veteran, was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed gardening and sharing his produce with friends. Born in Columbia, Ky., April 30, 1927, Mr. Burton was the son of Riley and Delie Burton. He married Allene Burton Sept. 27, 1945. She passed away Sept. 21, 1991. Survivors include a son, James W. (Linda Forman) Burton of Columbus; a brother, Nathaniel Burton of Columbia; and a sister, Alice Pruitt of Greenwood. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; brothers, Alvin, Caleb, C.T. and Robert Burton; and a sister, Catherine Brunson. Funeral Information BURIAL: Garland Brook Cemetery.
