Roy R. Smith January 03, 1945 - January 10, 2011 Roy R. Smith, 66, a resident of Millers Merry Manor at Hope, died there at 9:50 p.m. Monday, Jan. 10, 2011. Mr. Smith loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He loved the outdoors and was an avid NASCAR fan.He also enjoyed bird watching, playing cards and pool, reading and watching westerns. Born in Moss, Tenn., Jan. 3, 1945, Mr. Smith was the son of Estil W. and Mildred L. Price Smith. He is survived by a son, Allen (Crystal) Smith of Columbus, IN; daughters, Sharri (Steve) Hamilton of Hope, IN, and Jessica (Brian) Gilmore of Columbus, IN; grandchildren, Kaleb Cox and Ryan Hamilton of Hope, IN, Jaydon and Garritt Gilmore of Columbus, IN, and Sara and Zachary Smith of Columbus, IN; brothers, Coy (Sherry) Smith and Steve (Pam) Smith, both of Columbus, IN; and a sister, Barbara (Larry) Hurley of Indianapolis, IN. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Floyd and Larry Smith; and a nephew, Kevin Hurley. Funeral Information FUNERAL: 11 a.m. Friday, January 14, at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with Pastor Tracy McIntyre officiating. CALLING: 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 10 a.m. until service time Friday. BURIAL: Garland Brook Cemetery. Donations Information Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of South Central Indiana.
