Ruby Johnson

Ruby was born June 3, 1945, in Columbus, the daughter of Grant and Elnora Chasteen Olmstead. She was a “social butterfly’ who enjoyed helping people and attending church. She especially loved her grandchildren. The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday, January 20, 2018, at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with the Rev. Martin Wright officiating. Calling will be from 1p.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Centerstone Columbus. Survivors include her daughter, Rebecca Douglas of Seymour; brother, Elvin (Sue) Olmstead of Carrolton, Kentucky; a sister, Grace Olmstead of Columbus; grandchildren, Kevin Douglas and Azure Douglas; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Albert, Arlie, Elmer and Richard Olmstead; sisters, Dorothy Blanford, Louise Blanford, Lillie Bense and JoAnn Green; and several nieces and nephews.
