December 9, 1929 ~ March 19, 2025

Ruby Lee Gamble, an embodiment of kindness and devotion, fell asleep on March 19, 2025, and is now awaiting the Return of Christ. Born on December 9, 1929, in Ripley County, Indiana, to parents Leslie David and Gladys Connell Adam, Ruby's life was a tapestry of love, faith, and selfless service that touched everyone she knew. Ruby married Donald Dale Gamble, on June 11, 1949, in Fortville, Indiana. They spent the next 32 years together until Donald's passing on February 3, 1982. A dedicated military wife, Ruby gracefully navigated the life of constant relocation and provided unwavering support for her family as her husband served in the Air Force for 20 years. Ruby's legacy is carried forward through her cherished children, Victor Dale (Ann) Gamble, Tony Gamble, James (Karen) Gamble, Richard Wayne (Kelly) Gamble, Marcia Gamble (Ken) Heatley, and Pam Gamble (Freddie) Lucas, her treasured 9 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her siblings, a sister, and 3 brothers. Her extended family of beloved nieces, nephews, and close friends further bear witness to the impact of her love and generosity. A guiding light to her family and a surrogate mother to many, Ruby's presence was a haven of safety and comfort. Her children and their wellbeing were the pulse of her life, marking every action with profound love and care. Faith-filled and selfless, Ruby strived to demonstrate God's love to everyone, placing the needs of others above her own, and living by the words, "For it is in giving that we receive." Her unwavering faith was the cornerstone of her existence, guiding her through life's trials and triumphs. Ruby's compassionate spirit will be profoundly missed by all who were fortunate to have been graced by her nurturing presence. A funeral service celebrating Ruby's life will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, March 24, 2025 at the Jewell - Rittman Family Funeral Home with Luke Proctor, Senior Minister of Plainfield Christian Church officiating. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the service time Monday. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in Garland Brook Cemetery. As we bid farewell to Ruby Lee Gamble, we celebrate a life well-lived, one brimming with love and selfless devotion—a testament to the beauty of a life anchored in faith. Her memory will forever be cherished, inspiring us to embrace her lifelong lessons of love and service.
