Russell D. "Russ" Gray, 75, of Vevay, formerly of Columbus, died at 8:15 a.m. Sunday, April 29, 2012, at his home. Mr. Gray was an Air Force veteran and retired from Cummins Engine Company as a journeyman. He was a member of the VFW and American Legion, a former member of the Eagles Lodge and was a Dale Earnhart/NASCAR and IU fan. He loved animals, especially his dogs. Born in Henryville Aug. 19, 1936, Mr. Gray was the son of Walter and Hazel Asherbraner Gray. He married Carol Barnes Aug. 28, 1962. Survivors include his wife; sons, Troy Gray of Elizabethtown and Don Williams of Vevay; grandchildren, Ryan Williams, Tory Gray, Luke Williams, Brandon Johnson and Victoria Gray; and a great-grandson, Dominic Williams. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Edwin and Sherrill Gray. My fondest memories with Russ is when Troy, Carol, Russ and myself was in Fort Myers FL and we would stay up LATE and play cards and laugh all night. Russ and I would share the choc. covered peanuts. Love You Russ!

Aunt Carol, Donnie, and Troy. I am so sorry to hear about Uncle Russ and wish I could have been there. I know he was a very caring, loving , supportive husband and father anyone could ever have wanted!!! He is with our eternal family and welcomed with open arms from Dad, Mom, Mark, grandma Barnes and all of those he lost and loved during his wonderful life here with all of you!!!! I didnt know Russell personaly but I knew his son Don, and his grandsons Ryan and Luke. Don thought highly of his dad. He will be greatly missed.
Devoted husband to Carol,father to Troy and Don,and very good friend to many. May you rest in peace, to a very special friend.You will alway be considered family.
