MEMORIALS: Memorial contributions may be made to the donor's choice of charities. Russell Lee West, 65, of Muncie, died at 5:11 a.m., Thursday, February 6, 2014, at his home in Columbus. He was born in Shreveport, Louisiana, June 29, 1948, the son of the late Russell and Margaret R. "Peggy" Foist West. He married Mary Lou Froedge in April, 1979, and she survives. Russell was a member of ABATE, and a member of Teamsters 364 in Elkhart. He loved Harley-Davidson Motorcycles. In addition to his wife, Russell is also survived by sons, Jesse (Alex) West of Elkhart, Ben (Misty) Burton of Columbus, and Anthony Todd Ping of Muncie; daughters, Sunanda (David) Shelton of Nashville, Reshia (Mike) Mullinix of Eaton, and Candi Ping of Elkhart; a sister, Kathy (Fred) Spicer of Elkhart; 19 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Bill West.

Glad we spent those last few hours together when he was coherent for a short time. We watched TV at the hospital and discussed the cars and paint jobs.
Mary Lou Sorry to hear of Russ passing we all would have loved to come down for the funeral but with the weather we just could not make it. Know that you are in our thoughts and we send prayers to you and the family. Russ was a good friend to us and he will truly be missed. RIP Russ
