Ruth A. Gossman September 12, 1919 - July 04, 2010 Ruth Ann Gossman, 90, of State Street, died at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, July 4, 2010 in Indianapolis. Ruth was a member of East Columbus Christian Church. After retirement Ruth and her husband Phillip enjoyed 21 winters in Lakeland, Florida where she enjoyed golfing and visiting with their new friends. She also enjoyed flower gardening. Born Sept. 12, 1919 in Glasgow, Ky., Ruth was the daughter of Riley O. and Alta Mae Franklin Shoultz. She married Phillip Raymond Gossman Aug. 6, 1938. He preceded her in death March 9, 2002. Surviving are sons, David (Ann) Gossman of Huntersville, N.C. and Stephen (Charlotte) Gossman of Columbus; daughters, Phyllis A. (Vernon) Jewell of Columbus and Melissa (Tim) Abel of Indianapolis; a brother, Jewell (Lee Ella) Shoultz of Columbus; sisters, Jean Neville of Columbus, Maude Foster of Frankfort, Ky. and Juanita Warren of Indianapolis; 12 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband and eight brothers and sisters. Funeral Information FUNERAL: 2 p.m. Thursday at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home. CALLING: 6 to 8 p.m. today and from 1 p.m. until serviced time Thursday. BURIAL: Flat Rock Baptist Cemetery. Donations Information Memorials may be made to the Flat Rock Baptist Cemetery Perpetual Care Fund.
