Ruth E. Huntington, 88, of Ohio Street died at 9:15 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 24, 2008, at Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.
Mrs. Huntington was a member of East Columbus Christian Church.
Born in Hayden June 10, 1919, Mrs. Huntington was the daughter of Edward and Minnie Adler Schafer. She married William W. Huntington April 9, 1944.
She is survived by a daughter, Carolyn J. Smith of Columbus; sisters, Margaret (Ted) Staublin of Columbus, Elsie (Charlie) Hatfield of Columbus and Edna Bowling of Hayden; grandchildren, Debbie Redicker of Columbus and Melissa (Tom) Ortiz of Clarksville, Tenn.; great-grandchildren, Erica Smith, Tasha Ware, Michelle Ware and Michael Ware; and great-great-grandchildren, Isaiah Ware, Eric Ware and Yesina Ware.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on Oct. 13, 1990; a son, William E. Huntington on March 13, 2007; a brother, Earl Schafer; and sisters, Mary Nicholson, Ethel Thurston, Louise Crider and Elizabeth Tiemeyer.
Funeral Information
FUNERAL: 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with the Rev. David Armstrong officiating.
VISITATION: 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 12:30 p.m. until service time Wednesday.
BURIAL: Garland Brook Cemetery.
