Ruth Virginia Johnson, 80, of Midway Street, died at 7:11 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 1, 2012, at Columbus Regional Hospital. Ruth retired from Cosco Inc. after 20 years of service and was a former Sunday school teacher at First Baptist Church. She was a very caring person, especially with her family, and devoted many years of her life to caring for her parents. She was an avid roller skater. Ruth will always be remembered for her smile and her ability to make others smile. She will be greatly missed . Born in Columbus March 29, 1931, Ruth was the daughter of Clinton Johnson and Mamie Barker Johnson. She is survived by a son, Steve (Heidi) Ahrmann of Columbus, IN; a daughter, Deborah Coy of Columbus, IN; sisters, Jane E. Riddle of Columbus, IN, and JoAnn A. McMillian of Sarasota, FL; grandchildren, Brea Brewer, Clint Ahrmann, Calli Johnson, Hayli Ahrmann, Isaac Coy and Bambi Campbell; and great-grandchildren, Cole, Morgan, Jordan, Maddie, Caleb, Haley, Addison, Aleiah, Kaleigh, Aubreigh and Karleigh, and was looking forward to meeting a new great-grandchild in August. She was preceded in death by sisters, Alberta Johnson and Elizabeth Gordon; and brothers, Herbert F. Johnson, Donald Gene Johnson, Daryle Johnson and Clinton Johnson. Memorial contributions may be made to the donor's choice of charities. SERVICES: Noon Friday January 6, 2012 at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home VISITATION: 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Friday BURIAL: Garland Brook Cmetery

  4. So sorry to here about your loss, my prayers are with you. Debbie I’m here for you, 390-5335. I won’t be able to be at showing and just found out yesterday; when my dad’s sister called to see if he was going to showing, that my dad was very tight with your mom’s family when he was young. My dad can’t get around well and has appt. at hospital tommarrow, but wanted to leave words for you. He says “He’s sorry for your loss”.
