Wilson FINAL RESTING PLACE: Springer Cemetery VISITATION: 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Monday MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS: Sandcreek Conservation Club In keeping with Ruthie's conservation wishes, the family requests that any flowers sent be potted plants or bulbs. Ruthie Jean Malone has gone to be reunited with her Mother, Thelma Fife. Ruthie passed away at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility at 3:55 a.m. Wednesday, April 24, 2013. She was born August 20, 1957, in Vicksburg, Mississippi. to Jerry and Thelma Fife. She later moved to Westport, Indiana, where she met and eventually married John David Malone of Elizabethtown, Indiana. She was married in Indianapolis, Indiana, while riding in a horse-drawn open carriage around Monument Circle, accompanied by both daughters, Dorothy and Zonda, as witnesses to the marriage, on February 25, 1995. Ruthie was a kind and caring person, loved by all who knew her. She had been employed as a surveyor's assistant, a school bus driver and many positions as a cashier, including her favorite, at A.& H. Grocery located at Highway 7 & 31. She also enjoyed NASCAR and drag racing, Harleys, old trucks, music and dancing. She very much enjoyed crocheting, arts and crafts and her favorite was cutting firewood with her dear friend, Harry L. Stevenson. Ruthie was a member of Sandcreek Conservation Club and Jewell Village Separate Baptist Church as well as American Legion Post No. 24 of Columbus. She was preceded in death by her mother, Thelma Fife. She is survived by her husband, John D. Malone; her father, Jerry Fife; two daughters, Dorothy and Zonda; and seven grandchildren. She will be loved and missed by all who knew her.
