Sara Jean "Sally" Patton
August 30, 1939 ~ February 6, 2020
Sara Jean “Sally” Patton, 80, of Columbus, passed from this life to be with her Lord and Savior on February 6, 2020, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.
Sally was born August 30, 1939, in Sullivan, Indiana, the only child of Wendall Diel Loudermilk and Helen Lavon Oltman Loudermilk. She was baptized at First Baptist Church in Sullivan. Her dear childhood and lifelong friend was Myrna Alumbaugh Rambis. At age 14 Sally met the love of her life, Daniel W. Patton, and they married September 14, 1959. They had four children, Daniel W (Cathy), Kenneth (Liz), K Randall (Shelly), and Lori (Troy) Love. Sally was blessed with 15 grandchildren: Dan (Jill) Patton, Sarah (Tyler) Jarvis, Rebecca (Paul) Krenz, James (Ezra) Patton, Ashley (Matt) Flick, Paige (Chris) Goings, Joseph and Rachel Patton, Whitney (Jason) Hoban, Zach, Moriah and Elijah Love, Hannah, Nathan and John Patton. She had eight great- grandchildren and was expecting three more.
Sally worked over the years at Centra Credit Union, the Hallmark Store, and owned The Quilt Basket. She was a former member of First Baptist Church in Columbus and current member of First Christian Church in Columbus. She was a sister of Delta Theta Tau Sorority.
She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with her parents, her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a talented seamstress and quilter and enjoyed sewing for her family. She was a sparkling hostess and made everyone feel loved and welcome in her home. She loved to travel and to spend time in Florida each winter.
Friends may visit with the family on Sunday, February 9, from 1 until 4 p.m. at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service Monday at the church. Services will be held on Monday, February 10, at 10:30 a.m. at First Christian Church, with entombment following at Garland Brook Cemetery Mausoleum.

I am so sorry to hear of Sally’s passing. She was a beautiful lady. I enjoyed being in the Works in Progress Sunday School class with Dan and Sally.
I am so sorry for the loss of your mother Lori. It hard to lose your mom. If ever you need to talk, or anything I will make the time to be there.

Sally was beautiful on the inside and out. She always made you feel welcome and I have many fond memories spending time at the Patton house. Mr. Patton, Dan, Kenny, Randy and Lori you are in my thoughts and prayers.
