Sarah H. Heitz October 27, 1927 - June 29, 2010 Sarah Hannah Heitz, 82, of Pence Street, died at 10:28 p.m. Tuesday, June 29, 2010, at Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility. Mrs. Heitz was a NASCAR fan and also enjoyed sewing. Born in Bartholomew County Oct. 27, 1927, Mrs. Heitz was the daughter of Reese Reed Mahaffey and Amy Nugent Mahaffey. She married Charles Kenneth Heitz Sr. Jan. 12, 1948. He preceded her in death July 16, 1991. She is survived by sons, John Harris Heitz of Columbus, William Bill Reed Heitz of Columbus and Charles Kenneth (Cheryl) Heitz Jr. of Columbus; daughters, Elizabeth (Willie Jr.) Leonard of Columbus and Rose Heitz of Columbus; grandchildren, Rose (Mark) Nickerson of Columbus, David (Mary) Leonard of Elizabethtown, and Amy Michelle Heitz of Columbus; a stepgrandson, Chad (Jennifer) Leonard of Columbus; 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three great-grandchildren. Funeral Information FUNERAL: 10 a.m. Friday at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with the Rev. Glenn Poynter officiating.
