Sharon Helen Haines
May 10, 1945 ~ June 17, 2021
Sharon Helen Haines, 76, of Bloomington, passed away at 10:46 p.m. on Thursday, June 17, 2021 at Columbus Regional Hospital. She was born in Morristown, NJ on May 10, 1945 to Benjamin Henry Haines and Theresa Elizabeth (Wright) Haines.
Shortly after graduating from Morristown High School, Sharon married, giving birth to her only daughter, Dawn Marie. Sharon and her daughter later moved to Michigan City, Indiana where she worked for Lerner Shops, eventually becoming a District Manager. She worked for Lerner’s for many years, until being recruited to Kohl’s Department stores’ executive team.
Sharon enjoyed participating in sports from a young age and was a fan all of her life, avidly following basketball, baseball and football. Her other interests included carpentry, home maintenance, gardening, and participating in family events.
Sharon's greatest joy was her grandchildren. Nothing compared to the love Sharon had for her grandchildren, whom they called “Tita”. Tita was their number one fan, and she proudly and enthusiastically attended innumerable concerts and sporting events each was involved in, regardless of weather conditions or health issues. Tita especially enjoyed shopping, sharing lunch and having long conversations with all of her grandchildren.
Because Sharon enjoyed being close to her family, she retired to Bloomington, Indiana, where she attended St. Charles Catholic Church. Sharon loved the Lord and attended service regularly. She was devoted to the Right to Life cause and participated faithfully in prayer vigils for the unborn.
Survivors include her daughter, Dawn Marie (Rich) Brauneller of Edinburgh, IN; grandchildren: Theresa Marie (Joshua) Parmer, Oto Rene Brauneller, Heidy Abigail Brauneller and Faith Lee Brauneller; great-grandchildren: Dimitri Kilvert Parmer and Zachariah Lee Parmer; brothers: Thomas Albert Haines of Hackettstown, NJ and Benjamin Henry Haines Jr. of Succasunna, NJ; niece: Lori Ann Haines; nephews: Ryan Haines, Cody Haines and her little dog, Bear.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers: William Jack Haines and Raymond Joseph Haines.
Per Sharon’s request, cremation is planned. Inurnment will be at Holy Rood Cemetery in Morristown, NJ at a later date.
Arrangements were entrusted to Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home.
