May 8, 1945 ~ October 24, 2023

Sharon Sue Callahan Jacobs, 78, of Columbus passed away Tuesday, October 24, 2023, at Indiana University Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. Sharon was born in Seymour to Harry and Lorene Miller Callahan. She married the love of her life, Ron on October 13, 1967. Sharon was a homemaker and of the Christian faith. Her family and faith were of the utmost importance in her life; tough as nails, but loved unconditionally. She loved to cook, and if you ever left hungry, it was your fault. She enjoyed the outdoors, especially going to the outlook in Brown County, motorcycle rides, bicycle rides, and maybe even a racecar or two. Sharon also enjoyed tending to her yard and decorating for the seasons and holidays. Left to cherish the memories and love she gave include her husband Ron of 56 years, her daughter, Ava (Jason) Harris, her son, Kip (Paige) Jacobs, her brother, Roger (Lana) Callahan, as well as her five grandchildren; Ashley, Breanna, Abigail, Nathan, and Nia, along with her three great-grandchildren and her beloved fur baby Rue. Sharon was preceded in death by her parents. Graveside services will be conducted at the Garland Brook Mausoleum Chapel on Saturday, October 28, 2023, beginning at 2:00 p.m. with Perry Anderson officiating In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made through the funeral home to the Bartholomew Humane Society, or the Alzheimer’s Association. Arrangements entrusted to Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home.
