Shawn Michael Collins

Shawn Michael Collins, 45 of Indianapolis, IN died August 9,2020 in his home in Indianapolis. Shawn had been attending IVY Tech as was working toward finishing his Degree in Maintence Technology and worked part time at the Irvington Starbucks. Shawn Graduated from Columbus North High School in 1993 where he was nominated Prom King his senior year. He was also nominated to the Indiana All State Football Team and had a full ride scholarship to Indiana University. Shawn loved to ride his motorcycle, especially on the Colorado roads with his best friend Doug. He loved The Wisconsin Badgers and Notre Dame Football. He was also a Green Bay Packers fan. Shawn attended many Grateful Dead concerts in the 90’s and was fond of bluegrass music. He thrived on making others happy and had an infectious laugh that is unforgettable. He loved all animals especially doggies. Shawn will be remembered for being a kind and generous man that touched the lives of everyone who crossed his path. He was very proud of his recent accomplishments regarding his education and made the deans list for the 2020 school year. Shawn wanted to eventually be a motivational speaker and help those who faced similar struggles that he was able to overcome in his life here with us. Shawn will never leave our hearts or memories. Shawn was the son of Richard and Pansy Collins who preceded him in death. Shawn was married to Chrystal Posey Collins until her death in February 2018. Also preceding him in death are, Aaron Collins, Michael Collins, Inez Traylor, and Richard Collins. Shawn leaves behind two step sons (Columbus), Step Mother Ruby Collins, sisters Margaret (Maggy) Collins Taylor, Hattie Collins McKay, and Jenn Day his loving companion. (all of Indianapolis) Also surviving are cousins Shane Taylor, Rocky Taylor, Jason McKay, Matt McKay, Ric McKay (Julie), Chris Traylor, Lena Taylor Burns (Jason), and Dylan Traylor (Ashley).
