Shaylynne was born April 21, 2003, in Columbus, the daughter of Quentin A. and Racheal Henson Hill. She was a freshman at Columbus East High School and enjoyed drawing, art and music. Shaylynne was an outgoing person that loved spending time with her friends. Survivors include her father, Quentin A. Hill of Columbus; mother, Racheal Hill of Columbus; step-father, Alvalee Ritchie of Columbus; sisters, Aleigha Hill and Novalee Ritchie, both of Columbus; grandparents, Kassie (Larry) Clary of Hope; Tina Hill of Columbus and Mike Hill of Clifford; great-grandparents, Margaret Henson and Sharrell Mattox; and uncles, Tony Mattox of Columbus, Craig Hill of Columbus, Jeffrey Henson Jr. of Hope and Levi Ritchie of Columbus. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Jeffrey Henson Sr.

  1. We’ve never met, but my daughter was a friend of Shay’s. My heart is breaking for your family, and I just wanted to let you know that I am praying for you. May your family find peace and comfort at this time.

  2. I didn’t have the pleasure of teaching Shaylynne but I was a teacher on her 8th grade team. She was the sweetest, kindest, most selfless child I had met in a long time. As a parent myself, I cannot imagine the agony that you are going through. Please know that you are being prayed over. Thank you for sharing your wonderful daughter with us at Northside.

  5. Shay was such a positive and compassionate friend to my son Alex; they’d been friends since 7th grade at Northside, and she had come to our house numerous times. She was nothing short of a great person and her loss to Alex and to all of us is tremendous. Love to all Shaylynne’s family and friends.
