Sherry Helen Sipes

Sherry Helen Sipes of Columbus, IN passed away peacefully on 4/3/23 at home surrounded by her family and feline friends. She was born on 12/23/38 in Williams, IN to Leland and Anabel Williams, who preceded her in death, along with her husband of 65 years; Elsworth Sipes and 4 infant sons. She is survived by her children, Jeffrey Sipes (Linda), and Julie Prince (Ed), her grandchildren Dakota Prince (Lindsay), Cristin Prince - O’Shaughnessy (Ryan), and Jennifer Pagan (Joseph). Also surviving are her 5 great grandchildren: Glen, Evie, Jayden, Olivia, and Joey and her 2 brothers, Richard (Janice) and Williams, David (Erna) Williams, plus numerous dear nieces, nephews, and extended family. Sherry worked in office administration in the trucking industry for many years, retiring in 2001 from CCX. She was a longtime member of the 25th Street Church of Christ and was active for many years with the local 4-H “Dizzy Daisies” and EAA chapter 729. Sherry enjoyed gardening, reading, knitting beautiful hats, and watching Purdue basketball. She was always up to a road trip and loved her family vacations and the opportunity to hunt for “bargains” near and far. Sherry was a lover of all animals, but kitties held a special place in her heart. Sherry loved her family and friends deeply and in return was loved by many. Services will be held at the 25th Street Church of Christ in Columbus, IN on Thursday, 4/6/23 at 11:00 AM with calling one hour prior to the service. There will be a graveside service at Mount Olive Cemetery in Williams, IN at 2:30 PM Thursday. Arrangements were entrusted to Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home.
