Born in Circleville Sept.9, 1941, Shirley was the daughter of Roscoe Earl Franklin and Lillian Ruth Quackenbush Franklin. She married Marvin B. Harshbarger June 8, 1957. Survivors include her husband; sons, Terry (Sheila) Harshbarger of Frankfort, IN, Danny (Jodi) Harshbarger of Florida, and Tommie (Julie) Harshbarger of Dunreith, IN; daughters, Brenda (Rick) Cole of Lebanon, IN, Tami (Brian Bailey) Myers, and Kelly (Jeremy) Hurd, both of Columbus, IN; sisters, Jenny (Larry) Birge of Lafayette, IN; grandchildren, Travis, Jeremy, Brandi, Jake, Branden, Christina, Andy, Justin, Kayla, Amber, Josh, Nicole, Kelsey, Kelli, Tyler, and Heaven; stepgrandchildren, Vicky, Chad, Brian Jr., Kristen, and Bethany; and 24 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sisters, Judith Kay Grieger.

Shirley had a tender heart and a loving soul. She loved her family so very much. The smile she had when her grandchildren were around could lift a soul from the lowest depths. I loved our summer weekends spent here at home with Shirley and Marvin. Summers won’t be the same without her.

Shirley is my husbands (Travis Arnolds) grandmother. She was such a sweet person that had a huge heart. Fourteen years ago when my husband introduced us she accepted me with open arms along with my two daughters. We will miss her dearly. She was a one of a kind. We will have a huge void in our lives she has left a ever lasting impression in my heart that i will never let go.

Mom, I miss you so much. It has not been the same since you went home to be with your Heavenly Father. So many times I needed you, just to talk, and just to let you know you was a huge part of my life and my children’s. I am a grandma now, and it breaks my heart that you’re not here to see this…your baby girl a grandma, FINALLY!!! But it’s just not the same without you here. I love you mom, and not a day goes by that your not on my mind.

It’s been 10 years since you left this world. I deeply miss you and wish I can heard your voice one more time. It never gets easier but my lovely boys and husband keeps me going. Your would have loved them. I hope you are enjoying ur time in heaven and hope I get to see you again. You had a kind heart loved cooking meals and listen to Grandpa sign and play guitar. Those are my memories of you and our trips to Colfax on the weekends. You were very close to Jayden those are the memories I cherish. I love you and fly high.
