  1. What a lovely and heartwarming collection of photos of Shirley and her family and friends. Shirley was the Relief Societ president of the Columbus, Indiana Ward in 1978 when we lived in that area. She helped me so much through a very difficult time in my life. I have always been so grateful for her love, her patience, her listening ear and her wise advice. May our Heavenly Father bless and comfort all of you. I am so sorry for your loss. She was perfect.

  2. Sister Hooten was always a constant at church and such an amazing example of showing up and serving! She was friendly when I was a child and I loved hearing her wisdom as I grew up. You will be missed and your impact was so great!

    • Shirley is one of kind! A dedicated and faithful Latter-day Saint, outstanding genealogist and family researcher, a friend to all her knew her, an amazing talent for understanding the needs of others and responding accordingly, a marvelous wife and an amazing mother. She was a constant temple patron who kept me very busy with all her sealing work to be done. Always a smile on her face and a kind word or compliment to share. We will miss you Shirley but hope to follow your example as best we can! Condolences to your family and prayers for their comfort at a time of lost.
