Shirley Darlene Beyer

Shirley Darlene Beyer-May, 66, of Scottsburg, died at 3:46 a.m. Sunday, January 29, 2012 at Clark Memorial Hospital in Jeffersonville. She was born in Chicago, April 13, 1945, the daughter of William and Ida Mae Beintum Beyer. Shirley is survived by a son, Michael (Cherri) May of Columbus; daughters, Laurel May of Columbus and Lisa May-Thompson of Columbus; grandchildren, Jeff and Tanner Smith, Zane and Jade May, Michael May Jr., Kelsey Smith, Megan May and Maria Wood. She was preceded in death by her parents and the father of her children, Bernard ?Bernie? J. May on February 18, 2005. Shirley was a 21 year member of both the VFW and the American Legion Auxiliary. She was of Christian faith, and loved to play the organ and the accordion. SERVICES: PRAYER SERVICE: Will be conducted at 8 p.m. Wednesday at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with the Rev. Wes Jones officiating. VISITATION: Will be from 4 p.m. until service time Wednesday at the funeral home. MEMORIAL DONATIONS:May be made to the Shirley May Funeral Fund through the funeral home.
