Shirley L. Mitchner October 10, 1934 - July 12, 2009 Shirley L. Mitchner, 74, 0f 170 S., Columbus, died Sunday, July 12, 2009, at 10:05 p.m. at Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility in Columbus. Mrs. Mitchner retired from Target Stores where she was service desk manager. After her retirement, she worked for Dr. Betty Barnes' optometry office in Franklin. She was preceded in death by her three great loves. Her first husband, Granville Johnson; her second husband; Charles Mitchner; and her grandson, Charles D. Welch. She was also preceded in death by her loving parents, Lindsey and Lucille Simpson; two brothers, Donnie and Bobby Simpson; two nieces, Kimberly and Michelle Simpson; and three nephews, Allen and Timothy Olmstead and Donnie Carlton. Shirley is survived by her two daughters, Joyce and her husband Noel Pelegrina of Riverview, FL and Denise and her husband Randall Lucas of Kurtz, IN; her brothers and sisters, Lindsey Carroll Simpson of Shelbyville, IN, Tommy Simpson of Nineveh, IN, Peggy Olmstead of Columbus, IN, Rosemary Carlton of Livonia, MI, Kenny Simpson of Greenwood, IN, Linda Simpson of Seymour, IN, Brenda Batts of Seymour, IN, Joe Simpson of Camby, IN, and Jerry Simpson of Bloomfield, IN. She is also survived by two great-granddaughters, Katelynn and Emily Welch of FL, 17 nieces and nephews and many other family and friends too numerous to mention. Funeral Information VISITATION: Visitation will be at the funeral home July 18, 2009 from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service. MEMORIAL SERVICE: A memorial service will be held at Jewell Rittman Family Funeral Home Saturday, July 18, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Steve Yeaton officiating. BURIAL: Interment will be at Flatrock Baptist Cemetery. Donations Information In lieu of flowers, donations to Hospice of South Central Indiana in her name would be welcome.
